back in school they never taught us
what we needed to know
like how to deal with despair
or someone breaking' your heart
In school, educators teach students mathematical functions. Teachers lecture students’ chemistry, the Age of Napoleon, and how to evaluate and break down British literature from the 1800s. What no teacher can teach is what is happening outside the classroom. The interactions. The feelings. The pressure to be perfect. No amount of education gives anyone the advantage when one is in a situation that will make or break their social life.

They say these are the years one must proficiently strive in their academics. But behind the books, the late nights of homework, and the few minutes of cramming before a test, there’s a world of lies, gossip, and deceit. There’s a world where best friends can stab you in the back and enemies can be shown in a better light. It may seem like some high school movie, but in this surreal high, it’s life.
they say you need to pray
if you want to go to heaven
but they don't tell you what to say
when your whole life has gone to hell
SOHS is a typical high school set in the small town of Sherwood Oaks. It is located in Connecticut and approximately fifteen miles south from Hartford. With the population of only 947, people might think the town is filled with dreary and dull people who live unexciting lives. Though, the teenagers of Sherwood Oaks would definitely disagree with that assumption.
